Bird Ballad Suite

Good evening!

I've been AWOL for a bit.  Life has been crazy and I've had to prioritize but I'm excited to be back on the blog and posting a fun project for you! I know you can relate to life's craziness.  One thing that helps me through those times is when I can sneak away and create something for someone else.  Taking the focus off myself and all that's going on and focusing and the joy of creating a little gift for someone else helps me to get things back into perspective.

A few months ago, a fellow demonstrator that I've never met did something extremely sweet for me.  I am embarrassed to admit that I did not acknowledge her sweet gift because of said craziness and I just let it slip my mind. A couple of weeks ago, her act of kindness was brought back to my mind and I decided it was time to let her know how much I appreciated her thoughtfulness.

I decided to use the Bird Ballad Suite that is coming out in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  I just love the colors and the flowers in the designer series paper. So, I started chopping my DSP and created the card. I used two different paper designs, the lace trim ribbon, some clear epoxy drops, and Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.  The sentiment on the card is from the stamp set and I just made a quick tag for the front of the card.  When you need to create a fast card, you can't go wrong with our DSP!

Next, I used one of our pizza boxes, placed a bar of handmade soap (made by me!) and then made a quick belly band out of the same DSP.  I fussy cut flowers from another piece of DSP and added some Wink of Stella to add more sparkle. I finished up by wrapping the lace trim around a couple times and created another flag by snipping the ends of the tag.  This turned out so cute and I just love the delicate colors, lace, and sparkle...and how it all coordinates.

Finally, I created a little treat bag by using our 3x6 gusseted bag, some Coastal Cabana Cardstock, and the Story Label Punch.  I added some Rolo candies and used a mini binder clip that I found at Walmart.  Love this little treat bag.

I hope she loves this treat as much as I loved making it!
