Less Is More

Less Is More

I love monochromatic cards because they let the color steal the show. That’s what Pineapple Punch does on the happy daisy card made with the new Daisy Lane stamp set and medium daisy punch. This is such a simple card to make and it was inspired by fellow demonstrator, Genevieve Ko. It only uses a one-half sheet of Pineapple Punch and a 4x5-1/4” piece of Whisper White cardstock!

To make the daisies, I stamped 3 daisies in an alternating pattern and then punched them out. Next, I stamped the sentiment “Just a Little Smile” which is from the June Paper Pumpkin Kit. I attached the Whisper White cardstock to the front of the card. I then added a mini dimensional to the center of the daisies.

I attached the punches out daisies onto the dimensional sand turned them so I could see the Pineapple Punch cardstock peeking through. I hit the petals with some Wink of Stella for some added sparkle and added a clear faceted gem to the daisy centers.

Finally, I added 3 small clear rhinestones to add the finishing touch! I love how this card turned out. So sweet and simple! If you’d like to make this card, the list of supplies is found below.

So Blessed!

I’m participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Stampin’ Up Blog Highlights! I’d love for you to vote for my card. you can vote For my card by clicking the big blue button! The top 10 will be featured in an international blog hop! **Voting starts July 2!**

I was challenged to create a split gate fold card and here’s what I came up with. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!!

I used our new To a Wild Rose Stamp Set and stamped the flowers in Mango Melody and Poppy Parade. I stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow. I love how the the 3 different stamps give dimension and detail to the flowers. Two-Step Stampin’ is truly the what hooked me on Stampin’ Up!

I hope you will be challenged to create a card using a fun fold or technique you’ve never used before!

Bird Ballad Suite

Good evening!

I've been AWOL for a bit.  Life has been crazy and I've had to prioritize but I'm excited to be back on the blog and posting a fun project for you! I know you can relate to life's craziness.  One thing that helps me through those times is when I can sneak away and create something for someone else.  Taking the focus off myself and all that's going on and focusing and the joy of creating a little gift for someone else helps me to get things back into perspective.

A few months ago, a fellow demonstrator that I've never met did something extremely sweet for me.  I am embarrassed to admit that I did not acknowledge her sweet gift because of said craziness and I just let it slip my mind. A couple of weeks ago, her act of kindness was brought back to my mind and I decided it was time to let her know how much I appreciated her thoughtfulness.

I decided to use the Bird Ballad Suite that is coming out in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  I just love the colors and the flowers in the designer series paper. So, I started chopping my DSP and created the card. I used two different paper designs, the lace trim ribbon, some clear epoxy drops, and Wink of Stella to add some sparkle.  The sentiment on the card is from the stamp set and I just made a quick tag for the front of the card.  When you need to create a fast card, you can't go wrong with our DSP!

Next, I used one of our pizza boxes, placed a bar of handmade soap (made by me!) and then made a quick belly band out of the same DSP.  I fussy cut flowers from another piece of DSP and added some Wink of Stella to add more sparkle. I finished up by wrapping the lace trim around a couple times and created another flag by snipping the ends of the tag.  This turned out so cute and I just love the delicate colors, lace, and sparkle...and how it all coordinates.

Finally, I created a little treat bag by using our 3x6 gusseted bag, some Coastal Cabana Cardstock, and the Story Label Punch.  I added some Rolo candies and used a mini binder clip that I found at Walmart.  Love this little treat bag.

I hope she loves this treat as much as I loved making it!

A Not-So-Balmy Day

Good afternoon!

Brrrr!  It is cold here in East Tennessee. I’m enjoying an unexpected day off from work due to anticipated inclement weather (I'm a teacher by day) and so I’m trying to catch up on some blogging.

I made this card a few weeks ago and I just love it. Stampin’ Up! Gives us such beautiful Designer Series Paper and often there are colors that go unnoticed in these papers. In this card, I chose to pull out the Balmy Blue in the small flowers and I love the difference that it makes in the mood of the card. I added a small strip of sparkle glimmer paper and I think it sets it off beautifully.

What do you do when you get an unexpected day off? I love that I have this craft to do in my spare time, and even in my not so spare time. I also love that it only takes me a few minutes to finish a project to create something beautiful that I can share with others.

I hope you will create something beautiful today and share it with someone who needs something to brighten their day. If you'd like to create this card or one like it, I have linked all the supplies I used below.

Kylie's International Blog Highlight January 2019 - Wishing You a Lovely Blog Hop!

Welcome to my blog today! I! I'm taking part in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights for January and YOU can VOTE for my project! You can vote here: The top 10 winners get to participate in an International Blog Hop and I'd love to get in on that!

Our theme for this blog hop is "encouragement" and I think this card fits the bill! I mean who could you NOT give this to? I can't think of anyone! All the images are from the Forever Lovely Stamp Set in the new Occasions 2019 catalog.

I created this card in a hotel room!  I had to attend a technology conference for 3 days--by myself.  So, what do all addicted stampers do?? I packed a ton of stamping supplies and instead of going out to eat or shopping in my free time, I stamped!

I had limited supplies but was able to create a beautiful card.  It just goes to show that you don't have to have it all to make something beautiful.  I stamped and stamped again without reinking to get the varied shades of Lovely Lipstick for the flowers and did the same with the leaves in Old Olive and Soft Seafoam.  All of the cardstock is Very Vanilla and I added the Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon and a couple iridescent sequins to finish it off. I just love it.  Flowers make me happy and bling makes me happy, so this card makes me doubly happy!  HA!

Now is a great time to purchase these supplies!  Why? It's Sale-a-bration time and you can earn free products with every $50 you purchase. I mean, who doesn't love free stuff, right? I've got links to all the products I've used listed below.  Just click on the items you need to be connected to my shop!

Now, go make a card and share it with someone who needs encouragement, but first--vote for my project here:

Happy stamping, y'all!

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog today! I! I'm taking part in Kylie Biertucci's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.  Check out my project and then follow the links below to see other demonstrator's projects.  What a talented group!

I love all things flowers and the Forever Lovely bundle makes the most beautiful cards!  The thinlets create such delicate cuts which are accented by the flowers stamped in soft pastel inks of Soft Sea Foam and Calypso Coral.  The card base is Soft Sea Foam and the front is Whisper White. I sprinkled a few rhinestones for some bling and finished it off with the Calypso Coral ribbon from the Occasions 2019 catalog.  I just love how soft and sweet this card turned out.  A perfect way to thank someone for their kindness.
